CONFERENCE BAROMETER PROGRAMThis new program allows you to see input from each of your conference members. This is a great way to see what you might do to improve, update or consider for the conference in the future. Each member answers our quick barometer survey and then forwards there answers to us. We put togehter a report based on the information and also give you some input and suggestions. All info is kept confidential, no one from the schools or conference will know how the other answered the survey. This gives you an "honest" look at your conference. No matter how you feel your conference is operating, it never hurts to see where the membership stands. This can also help you retain present members. This service is also free - Contact us at - daveschmidt@bright.net

Greenville Talks Possible Sports Conference TiesRon Greeson, Sports Editor - Greenville (Ohio) AdvocateGREENVILLE (11-14-08) - Could real progress have begun toward a conference affiliation, or affiliations, for Greenville prep sports? Just maybe. Greenville director of athletics Greg Place confirmed earlier this week that very early, very preliminary discussions are underway about a variety of possible conference affiliations, involving single sports in some cases, and a possible new, interstate conference with some comparably-sized schools in Indiana. Also being discussed is single sport affiliations with some Ohio schools, schools that would remain in current conferences, but affiliate with Greenville in specific, selected sports that the current conference of these Buckeye schools do not have as conference sports. These developments have taken place quickly in recent weeks, and some school officials from these prospective partners will soon come to the Treaty City to meet in person with Place, and look at Greenville facilities. “We are hopeful that something can develop from all this, but it is too early to get too excited, because there are a lot of things to work out in any of these situations,” Place said by phone. With the help of an outside source (The Senior Reports) with experience in forging conference sports affiliations at the college level, a number of these possibilities have developed, and with the publicity now of the efforts to date, perhaps other conferences or schools, either in Indiana or Ohio, will step forward to join in the effort, or provide other alternatives. “The perspective is that a conference affiliation, in any of the sports, is a positive step for Green Wave sports in general, and the athletes and teams, specifically,” Place said. “It helps in scheduling, in recognition for your program and your kids, in all areas, so I hope something can be put together.” Although a club sport for the winter 2008-2009 season, Greenville’s new boys and girls bowling teams are already a part of the West Ohio High School Bowling Conference (WOHSBC), a northwest Ohio conference that also includes Darke County schools Mississinawa Valley and Versailles, along with a number of other Midwest Athletic Conference (MAC) and Western Buckeye League (WBL) schools.
