Delaware Prospect

Ashley Robbins 5'7 G

High School:

Delcastle Technical High School 1417 Newport Rd. Wilmington, DE 19804

We are sending you this to let you know Ashley Robbins is interested in furthering her education and playing basketball at the college level. Ashley is a wonderful student athlete maintaining a 3.0 GPA for her junior year and Honors also has a 3.2 cumulative GPA. She is a very talented young lady whether it's softball earning ACADEMIC ALL CONFERENCE as a freshman or track which in her first big meet in Baltimore,MD finished second in the finals of the 100 yd hurdles. Basketball is what she works on the hardest making her into a solid player able to score, dribble, has speed,Quickness, and great hands also can jump with the best at 5'7 but the one thing she really needed to work on was a three pt. shot and that what she did this summer and has showed improvement. Ashley has been playing basketball since Jr high school where she lead her team to two championship games. Entering high school in 2005 Ashley played on the JV and Freshman teams where she lead both teams JV undefeated and Freshman with one lost and was by far the leading scorer of both and received JV MVP AWARD. After working hard on her game over the summer, she came into her 10th grade year ready to play and made the varsity team. Not starting right away, she didn't give up. With half the season gone, she got her first start, not a lot of scoring but solid defense and finished the season as a starter. She also received the teams Defensive Player Award. The coaches lead her to her first AAU team the Delaware Lady Sharks where she made the team and began to learn the game. Coming off the bench as the six man, she was the spark plug. Hustle plays, rebounds, steals and scoring at will. The highlight of the season was at the Scoop Taylor Tournament in Wildwood, NJ where her team was down and the coach was not happy. After halftime Ashley came out and scored 29pts, which lead her team to the victory. Although Ashley was not a starter, she contributed greatly to the teams overall performance with an avg. 10 pts., 5 rebs. and 3 stls. This helped the team to the Nationals in Orlando, FL in 2007, which the team won. Going 9-0 throughout the tournament, they won the Division II Nation Championship in 2007. IN the championship game Ashley contributed with 10 pts., 3 rebs. and 2 stls. Coming in to her JR yr she was picked as a team CAPTAIN which set the stage for a very good year. Opening the season at the Oxford Tip off Tournament in Oxford,PA scorning 20 pts. in the Championship game and earning the OUTSTANDING PLAYER AWARD. During the season she score double digitals in most games and also had three 20pts. games and finishing the regular season averaging 12pts, 7rebs, 3 stls. The team made it to the State Tournament with a first round win Ashley 14pts 7rebs 3stls. At the end of the season she earned the team's Sportsmanship Award and 2ND TEAM ALL CONFERENCE. The second season with the Delaware Lady Sharks was a solid showing and the team won the DII NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2008 in Orlando,FL again.

We think with the hard work she put in the classroom and on the court with the awards and accomplishments she would be a good addition to your program.
