ROSE OF LORRAINE

I am looking for the AV, Rose of Lorraine, hybridized by Hugh Eyerdom of Granger Gardens.

Rose of Lorraine (7291) 02/08/90 H. Eyerdom Double dark red-orchid/white edge. Medium green, quilted, hairy, glossy/red back.

Contact Lori Hilfer at email address of rahilfer@roadrunner.com

Ethel Twiford (8041)

I have just learned of your site. I would appreciate if you could help me in finding a violet that was named after a member of the club I now belong to. Somehow, no one in our club has it any longer. It is.....

Ethel Twiford (8041) 02/10/1994 (H. Pittman) Double pink/raspberry edge. Variegated dark green and white, plain. Semiminiature (TX Hyb)

Mrs. Twiford is now deceased....I actually never knew her but I'm told she was a very active member of the club, First Goldsboro AVS, so I feel inclined to make every effort to find this violet, her namesake, and try to get it established again in her memory.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Interested in becoming a dealer of the J&J SWIFT MOIST-RITE Planter. We do not have a catalog as the planter is our only product. It is a vacuum controlled flower pot, not a wick, and is excellent for African violets. It is made of high impact polystyrene.

Oyama Planters

These patented self watering planters take the quesswork out of watering your plants. Your plants get just the right amount of water every time with our revolutionary technology. If interested in becoming a dealer please email violets@alaska.com for information.

Potting Mats

They are cut where you can bring the corners up and attach them together with velcro so you have a 3" tall edge all the way around. Then I open a stack of newspaper and have room around the edge for a bin for potting mix and my tools, pots etc... I sit a trash can under the edge in front of my chair. Of course I set this all up in front of the TV and a TV tray on a side will hold a flat for plants. When I repot a violet I wad up the paper toss it in the trash in front of me. I then use a squirt of antibacterial soap on my hands, the kind that doesn't require water and I keep a small spray bottle of alcohol for my tools. Pot another, when finished pick all my utensils and stuff up and open one corner of the mat so the debris falls into the trash can and use a bleach solution or soap and water to wash it off. It is waterproof but not washable in a machine, when dry you can fold it into a 10" square.
